WVRN is a television station in New York, which Jon Canmore worked for in his guise as "Jon Carter".
Nightwatch with Travis Marshall was also broadcast on this channel.
Real World Background
The name is another "joke"; WVRN is clearly an all-consonant version of "Wyvern".
