Jean Villom was the owner of the Vyones Tavern.

History

Jean Villom was tending bar when his daughter, Nicolette, approached him expressing concern with how Gerome Mazzal and Guillaume Maspier were bullying their frequent patron, Blaise Reynard. Later that evening when the two men were murdered by "a beast", Villom cooperated with Raoul Coupain to assemble a hunting party when the Stone Golem, Satyre, invaded his tavern and - despite Villom's best efforts - abducted Nicolette.

The following morning, following the deaths and carnage, Villom looked solemnly at Raoul. ("For Not Everything With Wings...")

Real World Background

In Clark Ashton Smith's short story "The Maker of Gargolyes", Jean Villom is the proprietor of a tavern in the medieval French town of Vyones, and father of Nicolette Villom. Unlike the Gargoyles comic, Smith's Villom does not survive the original story. Instead, his throat torn open by Reynard's stone "cat-headed monster".
