Real World Background
Edgar returned to Scotland to seize the throne from his uncle Donalbain in 1097, with the support of William Rufus. In 1098, he would surrendered Iona to the King of Norway, Magnus, ending the tradition of Scottish monarchs buried on the island. [1] He ruled as King until 1107.
