Emma of Normandy was the Queen of England, Princess Elena's sister, and Princess Katharine's aunt. She was also the mother of Edward the Confessor through her second husband, Aethelred the Unready.[1][2]
In 1042, she was locked up in a nunnery by Edward the Confessor once he assumed the throne.[3]
