History
Dalriada was founded by the Irish prince Fergus in Argyll around the year 500. ("Rock & Roll")
Real World Background
As in Shahrizad's story, Dalriada was founded by Irish immigrants under Fergus around 500; it was named after their original homeland in northern Ireland. Its Scottish inhabitants gradually grew more powerful, until in 843, their ruler, Kenneth mac Alpin, became the first High King of Scotland, supplanting the Pictish chieftains.
