*Ask Greg -- Since most of our canon-in-training information originates from this site, and since it is such a big part of the fandom, I think a page on Ask Greg would be appropriate. We could include a brief history of how it started, how it works, maybe list the competitions that have been held there. And we can have a big link to it at the bottom. -- Supermorff
+
*Dracon Family -- Does anyone else think New York's biggest crime syndicate deserves it's own page and category, or do you guys think the Tony Dracon and Organized crime pages pretty much cover everything relevant? -- Algernon 08:01, 22 October 2009 (CDT)
*Puck's flute -- An item page, probably a stub for now, but it did appear in a couple of episodes.
+

*Gargoyle Way -- We hear this phrase a lot to mean a lot of different things. Maybe someday we can cook up a page talking about the gargoyle code (parenting, banishing, leader/second, all that) Mabe it could help split up the gargoyles page more, as I did when I made clan. -- Matt 16:44, 1 January 2008 (CST)
+
* Executive Assistant -- Owen Burnett, Preston Vogel, Glasses, Shari, Robyn Correy... Not sure if this is a dumb idea or not, but I thought I'd put it out there for discussion. Feel free to totally reject this one. -- Matt
:I would rather have a series of interconnected pages, like Gargoyle, Gargoyle culture (which would link out to, e.g. Clan and Wind Ceremony), Gargoyle biology (which would link out to, e.g. Egg), and maybe even Gargoyle history or similar. We can keep some information (mostly canon) in the main article and then direct people wherever they want to go. Gargoyle Way can redirect to Gargoyle culture. We might even be able to merge some info back into more general articles from clan and egg and whatever else. To keep in line with the archives at Ask Greg, gargoyle culture could also be called gargoyle customs. ... Huh. That seems kinda complicated when I write it all out. -- Supermorff 17:21, 14 January 2008 (CST)
+

*Hovercraft -- Talk about hovercrafts and airships. Just a thought. -- Matt 11:48, 10 January 2008 (CST)
+
*Xanatos Tag
:Specifically Brod's hovercraft from "Golem" and "Turf". -- Supermorff
+
:You mean the bit at the end of an episode where Xanatos reveals that he was behind everything that happened (assuming that wasn't already obvious) and points out how even though the gargoyles foiled his plan or apparent plan, it's all good because he learned something that will make him more awesome?  Does that really need its own entry or can we just cover it in the David Xanatos article? -- Demonskrye 06:15, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
:Yeah, but we also had the Cyberbiotics' airships, the Hunter's airship and sky sleds and maybe others I can't think of. -- Matt 17:59, 14 January 2008 (CST)
+
::Yeah, one of them things. The problem with putting it in the Xanatos article itself is that Xanatos is an in-universe canon character, whereas the Xanatos tag is an out-of-universe production... thing. Besides, Thailog sometimes has his own "Xanatos tags" as well. -- Supermorff 06:45, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
*Street Thugs -- Since we have pages for most of the other recurring characters, I figured they needed their own page as well. Maybe have a subsection for London Street Thugs. -- Matt 17:15, 23 January 2008 (CST)
+
::I think a "Behind the Scenes" section would cover it. And we could put an additional link to Xanatos in Thailog's Behind the Scenes section when talking about his penchant for similar speeches. -- Demonskrye 07:28, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
:They appeared in Awakening... uh... 3, Avalon 1 and Hunter's Moon 1. The voice actors who played them switched roles between their first and second appearances (Keith David went from playing the bald white guy to the black guy in a leather jacket). They acquired a gun before their third appearance. That's all I got on them. -- Supermorff 15:10, 1 February 2008 (CST)
+

*Construction worker -- Another recurring character without a page. Where there any others we have not done yet? -- Matt 17:15, 23 January 2008 (CST)
+
*Space-Spawn War or Galactic War... something to describe the conflict between the Space-Spawn, the N'Kai and the unknown third race.
:From Vendettas and Hunter's Moon 1. Any other appearances? -- Supermorff 15:10, 1 February 2008 (CST)
+
:I think we should consult Greg to find out if he has a name for this war or at least a placeholder name. -- Matt 12:23, 12 October 2008 (CDT)
*Fairlane -- How about a page for Elisa's car?  We see it so much in the the show. It could go in the Vehicles Category PGFish 20:25, 9 April 2008 (CDT)
+
::Good plan. I wonder if the involved races have different names for it? -- Supermorff
*The Gargoyles Saga - While we would not include any story ideas from this collaborative fanfiction project, I think it was a sufficiently large part of the fandom that it could be mentioned here. We could mention the idea behind it, when it started, how long it lasted, and we could provide a link to the site. -- Supermorff 08:20, 28 April 2008 (CDT)
+

 +
*Since we now have articles for two unmade stories ("The Weird Macbeth" and "Hobgoblin of Little Minds"), how about a page for the multi-trickster story (about which we know quite a bit, but not the title). -- Supermorff 04:40, 5 December 2010 (CST)

::For future reference, Scarecrows! (I don't know where else to put it, since it is only a premise and not a full episode like the three above.) --Pheon (talk) 22:18, 12 November 2023 (PST)

*It's hard to believe there's now so much merchandise that we may be actually falling behind! So for those interested in making them, a page for the Goliath Vinyl Soda Cans, and a page for the Diamond Select busts (Goliath, Xanatos, and Demona so far) are up for grabs. --Pheon (talk) 17:49, 3 June 2023 (PDT)

*No real place for these CIT tidbits until pages are built for the Arthurian characters of Guinevere and Lancelot (not to be confused with the future Manhattan Clan gargoyles). I don't see any urgency for those pages until Pendragon gets greenlit one day. So for ease of reference: --Pheon (talk) 19:35, 25 November 2023 (PST)
:::Why not? Seriously, explain it to me. Whatever you might think about the stories after so many years, it was a huge part of the fandom for a long time. Bigger, one might argue, than the Disney Adventures comics or even the Marvel Comics, and it lasted longer than either of them as well. I agree that there should be no fanfiction on the wiki (i.e. no stories, no fan-made character bios, no reviews or anything else that might contain an idea invented for the project), but what's wrong with having a single page about the project, explaining the background? Let's open this up for other opinions, if there are any. Supermorff 12:23, 28 April 2008 (CDT)

::::I was on the TGS staff for years. I was the Head of Edits for about three of those years. Honestly, it does not belong here.  If we go in that direction why not give, say, Christine Morgan an entry. I love Christine as a writer and as a person, but I don't think it's appropriate given what this wiki is for. And you add one fanfiction series, you open the flood gates for every fanfiction author out there to add their own sagas. --Greg Bishansky

:::::Greg B makes a valid point, but so does Supermorff. Why not have a single page on Gargoyles fanfiction? Mention no stories, authors or anything like that, just discuss the idea in general. Just a thought. -- Matt 17:35, 28 April 2008 (CDT)

::::::I'm with Greg B on this. I think making a page for any particular fanfiction would open a floodgate that would be very hard to close.  In addition to the fact that I don't think it belongs here, we'd have to figure out a very clear and strict set of guidelines to determine what did and didn't merit a page and it would no doubt be hotly debated by people who think their fanfics deserve their own page too.  I would be OK with a general "Fanfiction" page in the Apocrypha section with a general discription of fanfiction and a little about "Gargoyles" fanfiction without mentioning any particular stories, series, or authors. Again, though, we'll have to have some guidelines for what's allowed on the page unless we want the article to turn into a long list of links to every "Gargoyles" fanfiction on the web. -- Demonskrye 19:09, 28 April 2008 (CDT)

:::::::Actually, I can see a personally useful result of putting up a single general fanfiction page. You could make it clear on the page that I NEVER look at fanfiction. It would help me out, frankly, and accomplish what Supermorff's trying to accomplish. --Gweisman 00:48, 29 April 2008 (CDT)

::::::::Yeah, I'm cool with that. At Fanfiction, we think, or something more specific? -- Supermorff 02:53, 29 April 2008 (CDT)

:Put the Fanfiction page together this morning.  It currently has a basic description and history of fanfiction in general rewritten from Wikipedia, a section on why peple write fanfiction, and Greg W's attitudes and policies regarding Gargoyles fanfiction.  It has a surprising amount of internal links.  If anyone wants to rework the section on why people write fanfiction - preferably someone who's done more of it than me - feel free.  Greg W, I based the section on your opinions of fanfic on some old Ask Greg responses, so feel free to change it to better reflect your thoughts on the subject.

The page is currently completely Greg W safe, meaning "free of any references to specific fanfics or original ideas", and I think we should keep it that way.  However, I think we could concievably provide some Gargoyles fanfiction related links.  At the least, we can link to libraries of Gargoyles fanfiction, like the Fanfiction Archive at the GFW.  We might even be able to link to an individual author's page of fanfiction stories, like Christine Morgn's site, though then we have to decide if we want to put any restrictions on who gets linked to.  What I'm wary of is links to individual stories - which would have titles which could be considered ideas - or links that describe the story/stories too much.  For example, "Jane Doe's Batman Tales - Stories where Batman wears a tut and sings Broadway musicals" and "Purple Batman - A story where Batman is purple and he has to find out why" would probably not be permissible links.  (They also wouldn't be good stories, since I'm purposefully using really bad Batman ideas as examples to avoid putting anything resembling a Gargoyles idea in here.

Also, could someone make a redirect from Fan Fiction, since I don't know how? -- Demonskrye 09:33, 29 April 2008 (CDT)

*Gilly's page and Robbins's book are not really the place for this, but Greg Weisman has indicated (vague) plans for the legendary hero plus other individuals like Enkidu, and (the evidently still immortal) Utnapishtim. Eventually there'll be a need for a Epic of Gilgamesh page for the poem, but for now the reference can live here. ===Wanted Pages Cleanup===
 +
I've tamed the list to under 150. With new canon constantly being added on a (wonderfully!) monthly basis, I wanted to clean up the special page so that the majority of the dead links would either be pages the folks on this wiki would like to actually create and build one day, or continue to serve as placeholders for pages needing proper names (this second example mostly applies to future issues of the current comic). The remaining dead links are largely cluttering old talk discussions or were outright typos, and so eliminating them throughout the wiki will make it easier to determine what still needs making. In the case of the old talk pages, I hope those edits properly preserve those discussions without being obtrusive. --Pheon (talk) 22:52, 1 June 2023 (PDT)

Welcome to the GargWiki Community Portal! Here we provide a simple introduction to the GargWiki community and a few useful tools to help editors navigate the site.

Before you begin

New users are always welcome at GargWiki, however due to past instances of vandalism and spam against the wiki it has been locked to prevent users from adding or editing content without permission. If you wish to contribute to GargWiki, first create your username, then leave a comment containing your username at the Ask Greg Comment Room, asking to be allowed to edit the site. One of our bureaucrats will be happy to give you editing priveleges. Thank you for your patience.

If you are new to GargWiki, or wiki editing in general, you are encouraged to browse some or all of the following pages:

 • GargWiki:About - This page contains a brief description of GargWiki, an explanation of how articles are organized, and a short history of the site.
 • GargWiki:Copyrights - At GargWiki we do not accept copyrighted work of any kind without the copyright holder's explicit consent.
 • GargWiki:Policy - Here you can find a few behavioural guidelines that users are expected to follow while using this site.

Additionally, the Sandbox can be used as a space for editors to experiment constructively with wikitext and source code.

Ongoing discussions

GargWiki talk:Community Portal, this page's associated talk page, is for discussions and suggestions relating to the whole of GargWiki. Tasks

In this section, editors can list GargWiki pages according to the work that needs to be done on them. Editors can request pages anonymously or sign their comments by adding three tildes at the end: ~~~

Editors are also encouraged to give a brief explanation as to why they have listed the page, and ideas for improvement.

Pages in need of expansion

Special:Shortpages contains an automatically-generated list of pages with the least information, but users can also list pages to be expanded here.

 • Humans -- Talent for invention and technology. Make too much noise (and constantly modify their environment) to sense the biorhythms. Probably invented naming. History with a focus on their relations with other races. -- Vaevictis Asmadi 10:07, 24 December 2007 (CST)
 • Kenner Action Figures

Requested pages

Special:Wantedpages contains an automatically-generated list of non-existent pages with the most incoming links, but users can also request pages to be created by listing them here.

 • Dracon Family -- Does anyone else think New York's biggest crime syndicate deserves it's own page and category, or do you guys think the Tony Dracon and Organized crime pages pretty much cover everything relevant? -- Algernon 08:01, 22 October 2009 (CDT)
You mean the bit at the end of an episode where Xanatos reveals that he was behind everything that happened (assuming that wasn't already obvious) and points out how even though the gargoyles foiled his plan or apparent plan, it's all good because he learned something that will make him more awesome? Does that really need its own entry or can we just cover it in the David Xanatos article? -- Demonskrye 06:15, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
Yeah, one of them things.
I think a "Behind the Scenes" section would cover it. And we could put an additional link to Xanatos in Thailog's Behind the Scenes section when talking about his penchant for similar speeches. -- Demonskrye 07:28, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
I think we should consult Greg to find out if he has a name for this war or at least a placeholder name. -- Matt 12:23, 12 October 2008 (CDT)
Good plan. I wonder if the involved races have different names for it? -- Supermorff
For future reference, Scarecrows! (I don't know where else to put it, since it is only a premise and not a full episode like the three above.) [1] --Pheon (talk) 22:18, 12 November 2023 (PST)
 • I was just thinking. We have aircraft and exo-frame pages. Shouldn't we have one for weapons? DTaina 21:46, 18 January 2009 (CST)
 • It's hard to believe there's now so much merchandise that we may be actually falling behind! So for those interested in making them, a page for the Goliath Vinyl Soda Cans, and a page for the Diamond Select busts (Goliath, Xanatos, and Demona so far) are up for grabs. --Pheon (talk) 17:49, 3 June 2023 (PDT)
 • No real place for these CIT tidbits until pages are built for the Arthurian characters of Guinevere and Lancelot (not to be confused with the future Manhattan Clan gargoyles). I don't see any urgency for those pages until Pendragon gets greenlit one day. So for ease of reference: [2][3] --Pheon (talk) 19:35, 25 November 2023 (PST)
 • Gilly's page and Robbins's book are not really the place for this, but Greg Weisman has indicated (vague) plans for the legendary hero plus other individuals like Enkidu, and (the evidently still immortal) Utnapishtim. Eventually there'll be a need for a Epic of Gilgamesh page for the poem, but for now the reference can live here. [4] --Pheon (talk) 17:32, 15 January 2024 (PST)
 • Morgause is apparently a separate character from any of the survivors, but there's no indication if she will have a role in any series, so the need for her own page is unurgent, but the reference can live here. [5] --Pheon (talk) 22:10, 15 March 2024 (PDT)

Requested images

Here, users can list articles that they believe could be improved by the inclusion of appropriate images.

 • Ishimura Clan -- Matt has requested a collage of higher quality pics of all members seen in canon.
Yeah, there's a pan of it but I haven't finished it yet. DTaina 01:44, 10 February 2009 (CST)
 • Demona's Clan needs an updated picture (collage?) with new clan members shown in the TimeDancer comic arc. -- Litwolf 25 August 2009
 • Old Pog could use another pic of him not in his stone form, although this may require someone to donate a model sheet or a drawing not used in the comic. -- Supermorff 10:22, 12 December 2010 (CST)
 • This is an unusual one, does anybody have any better pics of "Gargoyle" from W.I.T.C.H.? The one I have isn't that great. Ideally I'd like one from season 2 where he got that new lava hand from Nerissa. --Algernon 16:55, 13 August 2010 (CDT)
 • A general thought, but it'd be awesome if we eventually found images for a lot of the old various merchandise, like the VHS's, books, and posters (even the ALA READ poster). No doubt, there's probably a few dedicated editors taking on this endeavor, but I thought it couldn't hurt to add the post . . . for officialness-sake :) --Pheon 21:30, 26 March 2011 (CDT)
 • Not sure if its something you might already have/in-the-works, DTaina, but I was thinking that a pan of the logo on Fortress-1 (from "Awakening, Part Five" I think) would be nice for the Cyberbiotics page. It might not be the official company logo for Cyberbiotics, but I think the page could use a cool pan :) --Pheon 10:09, 31 October 2011 (PDT)

Wanted Pages Cleanup
