Welcome to the GargWiki Community Portal! Here we provide a simple introduction to the GargWiki community and a few useful tools to help editors navigate the site.

Before you begin

New users are always welcome at GargWiki, however due to past instances of vandalism and spam against the wiki it has been locked to prevent users from adding or editing content without permission. Tasks

In this section, editors can list GargWiki pages according to the work that needs to be done on them. Editors can request pages anonymously or sign their comments by adding three tildes at the end: ~~~

Editors are also encouraged to give a brief explanation as to why they have listed the page, and ideas for improvement.

Requested pages

Special:Wantedpages contains an automatically-generated list of non-existent pages with the most incoming links, but users can also request pages to be created by listing them here.

  • Gargoyle Way -- We hear this phrase a lot to mean a lot of different things. Maybe someday we can cook up a page talking about the gargoyle code (parenting, banishing, leader/second, all that) Mabe it could help split up the gargoyles page more, as I did when I made clan. -- Matt 16:44, 1 January 2008 (CST)
I would rather have a series of interconnected pages, like Gargoyle, Gargoyle culture (which would link out to, e.g. Clan and Wind Ceremony), Gargoyle biology (which would link out to, e.g. Egg), and maybe even Gargoyle history or similar. We can keep some information (mostly canon) in the main article and then direct people wherever they want to go. Gargoyle Way can redirect to Gargoyle culture. We might even be able to merge some info back into more general articles from clan and egg and whatever else. To keep in line with the archives at Ask Greg, gargoyle culture could also be called gargoyle customs. ... Huh. That seems kinda complicated when I write it all out. -- Supermorff 17:21, 14 January 2008 (CST)
From Vendettas and Hunter's Moon 1. Any other appearances? -- Supermorff 15:10, 1 February 2008 (CST)
  • Fairlane -- How about a page for Elisa's car? We see it so much in the the show. It could go in the Vehicles Category PGFish 20:25, 9 April 2008 (CDT)
Since it wasn't identified as a Fairlane, I'd suggest just calling it Elisa's Car or something and mentioning that someone based it off the Fairlane in the Production Background or whatever. Just my two cents. -- Matt 21:22, 7 May 2008 (CDT)
I think this should specifically be Bad Guys Leica Reel with Leica Reel redirecting to it. -- Demonskrye 06:15, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
With the cancellation of the comic, I'm not sure these pages are necessary any more. Gargoyles (SLG) is now more-or-less synonymous with Clan-Building, and Gargoyles: Bad Guys is pretty much synonymous with Redemption (story-arc). That said, we probably should put some information specific to the story-arcs into these articles. -- Supermorff 12:46, 9 September 2008 (CDT)
You mean the bit at the end of an episode where Xanatos reveals that he was behind everything that happened (assuming that wasn't already obvious) and points out how even though the gargoyles foiled his plan or apparent plan, it's all good because he learned something that will make him more awesome? Does that really need its own entry or can we just cover it in the David Xanatos article? -- Demonskrye 06:15, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
Yeah, one of them things. The problem with putting it in the Xanatos article itself is that Xanatos is an in-universe canon character, whereas the Xanatos tag is an out-of-universe production... thing. Besides, Thailog sometimes has his own "Xanatos tags" as well. -- Supermorff 06:45, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
I think a "Behind the Scenes" section would cover it. And we could put an additional link to Xanatos in Thailog's Behind the Scenes section when talking about his penchant for similar speeches. -- Demonskrye 07:28, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
I don't doubt that a Behind the Scenes section could cover it, but why should it have to? By the way, has everyone seen this? -- Supermorff 12:02, 10 July 2008 (CDT)
  • Gargoyles (trading cards) - So according to an advertisement in one of my old comics I just recently happened across, there was a line of Gargoyles trading cards produced by a company called SkyBox. The ad predates the series' premiere, and indeed informs potential viewers that the series will premiere in syndication that coming fall, the card series was set to debut April 1995, the whole page is really quite nostalgic in a way (especially given that I wasn't really aware of the show at the time), and all in all, something tells me we really ought to have a page about this. - Caswin 21:34, 18 July 2008 (CDT)
Oh, yeah, that would be cool. There were two sets of trading cards-I have both. It might be interesting to have a page on the cards-maybe what is written on the cards themselves. Also, what about some of the books? Maybe we could list some stories from old Gargoyles books in the apocrypha section--PGFish 01:59, 19 July 2008 (CDT)
It appeared in "Legion". Anywhere else? -- Supermorff 15:37, 8 September 2008 (CDT)
  • Hudson's sword -- Who else is kicking themselves for not thinking of this sooner? -- Supermorff 17:49, 4 October 2008 (CDT)
Things to mention: Hudson took the sword off a Viking in Awakening 2 (although in the Reawakening flashback he's mistakenly shown wearing it). In "The Price", it was the hardest thing for Xanatos to replicate. In "Gathering 2", the sord could not cut Oberon's hair so probably isn't made out of iron (I would guess steel). Also we can mention (since it comes up so much at Ask Greg), that whether the sword turns to stone depends on Hudson's mindset at the time. -- Supermorff
  • The thief from "Reawakening". I'm not sure he appeared in any other episode... but who cares? -- Supermorff
  • Xanatos' exo-suit, Steel Clan armor type thing... yeah, I have no idea what to call it. We keep linking to Steel Clan, but it might warrant an article of its own. -- Supermorff 21:56, 9 October 2008 (CDT)
  • Space-Spawn War or Galactic War... something to describe the conflict between the Space-Spawn, the N'Kai and the unknown third race.

Pages in need of expansion

Special:Shortpages contains an automatically-generated list of pages with the least information, but users can also list pages to be expanded here.

Requested images

Here, users can list articles that they believe could be improved by the inclusion of appropriate images.

  • Avalon Clan -- Matt has requested a collage of higher quality pics of all members seen in canon.
  • Ishimura Clan -- Matt has requested a collage of higher quality pics of all members seen in canon.
  • Halloween - Demonskrye would like some pictures of various characters in their Halloween costumes.
From Eye of the Beholder or Gargoyles #4 and #5? Or both? D Taina 17:25, 9 May 2008 (CDT)
I'd personally like both eventually, but no rush. You can also feel free to grab pics of any other characters with interesting Halloween costumes (like Alex, Brendan, Morgan, maybe Thailog?, etc). -- Demonskrye 18:39, 9 May 2008 (CDT)
  • Tom - Supermorff would like a better picture of old/Guardian armor Tom, with his helmet completely off if possible.
  • The Guggenheim Museum - Users would like an external shot of the museum, as seen in "Pendragon".
  • I just noticed that there are no pictures of the New Olympians on that page. I thought this might be an excuse to show pics of Taurus, Boreas, Proteus, Talos, Sphinx etc...not all of these naturally, but enough to give people an idea of the diversity of the speices. Griffinwyrm7 03:26, 16 August 2008 (CDT)
  • Terry Chung - Demonskrye thinks we should have a picture of young Terry from Louse, as he's not wearing his Goliath costume and we should probably have a picture where you can see his face.
I have this pan of PackMedia Studios. I hate the colors, but I could always get new screenshots. [1] DTaina 23:35, 25 July 2008 (CDT)
Thats hilarious. I've been meaning to add your pan of PMS to the page for months now. Do you think you could find something better or do you just want to use that one? I think it is fine. -- Matt 23:42, 25 July 2008 (CDT)
I really hate the brightness setting on those screenshots. And to tell you the truth, I haven't found a better shot of Pack Media Studios. So, give me a few minutes to replace the screenshots and we'll be all set! DTaina 23:57, 25 July 2008 (CDT)
I found this screenshot while looking for the pan. [2] I think it looks great. You guys want to use that one? It's fine by me! DTaina 00:10, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
And here's the pan with the new screenshots. Let me know if you want to use the screenshot or the pan! [3]
I like the screenshot better. -- Matt 07:39, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
Okay, I uploaded the screenshots for PackMedia Studios and Otoshiana Maru. One thing, though. The article says it's "PackMedia Studios," but the screenshots say "Pack Media Studios." Which is it? DTaina 11:10, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
Greg's comments at Ask Greg pretty consistently call it PackMedia, e.g. [4] and [5]. But maybe we have to work out whether the canon screenshot overrule the CIT Ask Greg comments. -- Supermorff 11:44, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
Actually, look again. Not only is there an extra space in the middle, the screenshot does not have an 's' on the end. It's "Pack Media Studio" (singular), suggesting it might just be the Studio where the company Pack Media is based. Just a possibility. -- Supermorff 11:47, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
Maybe that's the name of the building, while the company itself is called PackMedia Studios? Maybe there's more than one studio? DTaina 14:29, 27 July 2008 (CDT)
So... who wants to Ask Greg a question? -- Supermorff 15:56, 27 July 2008 (CDT)
  • Nice pics, Dtaina, thanks! Found another one for you ;) How bout a pic of the Gen-U-Tech Systems lab/logo?--PGFish 13:04, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
There you go, I uploaded a pic. Do you want a pic of the Gen-U-Tech logo, too? It's a big "G". I actually have it on my site. [6] Want me to get a proper screenshot? DTaina 20:56, 26 July 2008 (CDT)
Yes please. -- Supermorff 15:56, 27 July 2008 (CDT)
  • Reunion - Can we have a picture of the cover that does not have "LOW-RESOLUTION FILE FOR REVIEW ONLY" printed across it? (This is an honest question: if we can't, then it's not really a big problem.) -- Supermorff 11:20, 12 October 2008 (CDT)

The requests keep piling up! I'm so sorry about that. I've just been so busy lately. But I promise I'll try to get to work on all these requests soon! DTaina 14:10, 23 August 2008 (CDT)
