Edmund
Edmund was the son of Malcolm Canmore, and Margaret. He is the half-brother of Paul and Erlend Thorfinnson, Donnchad, and Donald Canmore and the brother of Edward, Edelred, Edgar, Alexandair, Edith, Mary, and Dauid.
History
In 1093, Edmund accompanied his father, uncle, and brothers to Northumbria. He took no delight in the sacking of Alnwick, expressing that the peasants there "never stood a chance". At any rate, Edmund joined his father and brothers later that day in the massacre of the Northumbria Clan.
After Malcolm III and Edward's death, a civil war broke out between Donalbain and Doncchad, who both claimed the crown. Edmund joined forces with his uncle, in opposition to his brothers. ("Fools Rush In...")

Real World Background
As depicted in the Gargoyles comic, Edmund supported his uncle Donalbain in the war with Donnchad after Malcolm Canmore's death.
After Edgar overthrew Donalbain in 1097, Edmund was briefly imprisoned, but was later freed, and entered a monastery (technically, a priory) at Montacute in Somerset. (He reportedly requested to be buried in chains upon his passing, as penance for helping to bring about his half-brother's death.)
